am I ELIGIBLE?

Any licensed or registered family day care home or group day care home is eligible to participate. Contact your county health department for licensing/registration information or concerns.

Any child 0 to 12 is eligible to receive reimbursable meals and snacks at the daycare home. Meals for school aged children in grades 1-6 cannot be reimbursed if that meal was available at school.

In family daycare homes, reimbursement is paid to the provider regardless of the income level of the provider or the enrolled child, subject to federal tiering. Additionally, family day care home providers who meet income guidelines may claim reimbursement for meals served to their own children if at least one outside child is also present for that meal.

Non-profit centers and, in some cases for-profit centers, can participate in CACFP through the Kansas State Board of Education.
